HEALTHY MEALS

We need protein for our brains, fibre to make food go through our bodies and carbohydrates for energy. Vitamins and minerals help us grow and stay healthy.

Breakfast

In the morning, you need to be active, so have a healthy breakfast I like cereal with milk and a glass of orange juice. Carbohydrates in cereal give you energy, the milk has minerals and orange juice has vitamin C. In fact, all fruit has lots of vitamins.

Lunch

For lunch, I usually have chicken and tomato sandwiches with brown bread. It's better than white bread because it has more fibre. Chicken has protein so you can do well in class! And tomatoes have fibre and vitamin E. I only put a little butter because it has fat and it isn't good for your health.

Dinner

I like fish or meat for dinner because it has protein. Red meat also has important minerals. I add potatoes pasta or rice because they have carbohydrates and green vegetables for fibre and vitamins.

Snacks

I try not to eat sweets or chocolates! Sugar and fat have lots of calories, so they're not good for you! Have an apple, a cereal bar or a salad instead. I sometimes boil an egg for an egg sandwich because milk products (eggs, milk, cheese, yoghurt, butter) have protein and minerals.

2. Search a video on YouTube to understand how greenhouse works. Then check your understanding in the text below.

A greenhouse is built to grow plants, such as tomatoes and tropical flowers. It has glass walls and a glass roof. In the daytime, sunlight heats up the greenhouse and warms the plants and air inside. The glass walls of the greenhouse trap the Sun's heat so that it cannot escape. At nighttime, it's colder outside, but the greenhouse stays warm inside because of the trapped heat. The temperature inside the greenhouse is essential for plants to grow. This is called the greenhouse effect.

The natural warming process on Earth works much the same way. During the day, the Sun shines into the Earth's atmosphere. Gases in the atmosphere, such as carbon dioxide, trap the Sun's heat. These heat-trapping gases are called greenhouse gases. At night, the Earth cools down, releasing heat back into the air. Some of the heat passes through the atmosphere into the space, but most of it is captured by the greenhouse gases. This is the mechanism that keeps our Earth a warm and cozy place with the temperature of 58 degrees Fahrenheit (14 degrees Celsius), on average. Without heat-trapping greenhouse gases, according to scientists, the average global surface temperature would drop to -18°C.

This greenhouse effect is crucial to keeping the Earth a comfortable place to live. Today, however, the greenhouse effects are worsening because human's activities are contributing to an increasing temperature of the Earth. This is known as global warming.

2. Read the following article about the technological developments in education in the future. Write the number of the technologies (1-3) in the blanks.

1. Which device helps students boost their imagination?                        _____

2. Which device helps students learn according to what they need? _____

3. Which device helps students have real-world experiences?                     _____

4. Which device helps students have mini-objects?                                 _____

5. Which device helps students learn through various applications?          _____

I believe in the next 30 years, students in big cities in Việt Nam will learn differently from what they do now with the support of technology. Here are a few technologies that will reshape the future of education in Việt Nam:

1. Virtual Reality

Students will wear a Virtual Reality (VR) headset that can cover educational lessons and provide them with real- world experiences. Students will be taken on a virtual trip, experiencing exactly what is happening outside the classroom. Imagine if you walk through a garden, the VR headset will automatically identify the name and details of every plant you see.

2. 3D Printing

In the near future, Vietnamese teachers and students will have a 3D printer on their desks to help them learn STEM subjects. When the class is learning about the history of planes, these 3D printers can print mini-planes based on the designs given. This technological device combined with VR technology will print out any object students imagine they will experience in their virtual classrooms.

3. Machine learning

Advances in machine learning will help students learn at their own pace that suit their intellectual abilities. Students will be placed in adaptive learning platforms where contents will be personalized for them. There will be adaptive quizzes, textbook apps and other educational apps that match with students' educational background.

2. In 3D
