Phương pháp giải

Hi Mia. How's that homework? You know, about child prodigies.

Well, it's quite interesting learning about prodigies. I'm writing about Ruth Lawrence, that woman, who was really amazing at maths when she was a girl.

Oh yeah. Hmm, math. I can't really do all those difficult maths exercises at school.

Oh, I can sometimes. That's why I wanted to write about this girl.

Say, what did you learn about her?

Well, she's British. She's from the UK and she was born in Brighton. Her parents were both computer programmers, but she didn't go to school, her father stopped working when she was five, so he could teach her at home.

Really?

Yeah. Her father taught her maths. She could do more difficult maths work than other children at an early age. You know? Really difficult maths.

Wow.

And she was soon a bit of a child prodigy.

Amazing.

I think from a young age, she wanted to be a mathematician. And when she was twelve, she passed the entrance exam to study maths at Oxford University.

 You're kidding.

No. She was the best student in the entrance exam. Can you imagine that?

Wow.

So she started University at the age of twelve, and she was the youngest student to get a degree from Oxford University in modern times. She was only thirteen.

So what happened after that?

Well, she did work in universities, and she became a professor at America University of the age of twentytwo. And she's now an expert in a particular type of maths.

Wow. That’s good!

So which child prodigy are you writing about?

The artist Picasso.
