Around the world, there are some jobs that may seem quite strange and surprising to you.

Train pushers

In Japan, the railway system is huge and everyone there uses trains. This makes them overcrowded most of the time. During rush hour, railway station attendants called 'pushers' or 'oshiya' do the strangest job in the world - they push passengers into trains. They have to do this because of the large number of commuters who wish to arrive at their desired locations on time. That's why they must endure the pain in squeezing themselves inside the train.

Cleaners of the world's highest building

Have you ever wondered how the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa, in Dubai, is cleaned? It takes a team of 36 window cleaners a total of three months to clean the tower's reflective windows. Working from the height of more than 800 metres, the cleaners face huge challenges especially during bad weather. They must be the bravest cleaners in the world.

Golf balls divers

Every year in the UK, millions of golf balls get lost in the water around golf courses. This gave rise to the demand for golf ball divers whose job is to dive deep into the lakes and ponds around golf courses to find the lost balls. Most of them are professional scuba divers, but they spend long hours crawling around in mud and carrying heavy buckets. On average, they find 5,000 balls per lake. After cleaning them, they resell or recycle the balls. Sounds dangerous, doesn't it?

Finally, some people don't like the work-life balance of nine-to-five jobs. My mom has to work about 40 hours each week, which is quite a lot, and the hours aren't usually flexible.

In summary, there are some good benefits to my mom's nine-to-five office job, but not every job has them. It's great to have a regular salary and perks, but some people might prefer a better work-life balance.

Have you ever wondered what it could be like to do your dream job? We interviewed two people who found theirs!

Jenna: I've always been someone who loves interacting with other people and I also have a strong interest in technology. Therefore, I was really motivated to find a job where I could use my communication skills. Fortunately, I found a perfect job, working as a social media manager for a small local company. I've done this job for almost twelve months, and I love it. I get to write interesting online posts and come up with social media strategies to help our company get more attention online. As I grew up, I started to take more interest in working with computers and using them. I began by making simple quiz apps and programmes for taking notes, and then when I finished high school, I went to university and completed a course in software development. EAT THAT FROG!

You're almost at the end of school and close to going on to further education or entering the job market. In his book, Eat that Frog!, time management expert Brian Tracy outlines some simple tips to help you reach your full potential and stop you burning out.

1. EAT THAT FOG

Imagine the scenario-you've taken up a new job or started a new course, but you're overworked. You've got  so many things to do. Your frog is your biggest, most difficult and important task, the one you're most likely to  put off until later. Make sure it's the first job you do, and keep at it until it's done.

2. WRITE DOWN YOUR GOALS

Set out your objectives. Make a list of ten goals you'd like to achieve in the next twelve months. If you could only achieve one goal, which one would have the most positive effect on on your life? Focus on that objective first and get down to work straight away.

3. WRITE A TO-DO LIST

Get organised. Before you get on with your work, if you take ten minutes to map out exactly how you will spend your time, you can increase your output by 25 percent. Planning can save you time especially when you're working to a deadline.

4. DEVELOP THE RIGHT HABITS

Improve your career prospects by observing what successful people do. Imitate their behaviour: be punctual, think for yourself, speak your mind. Do these things day in, day out until they become second nature. Then you'll be on your way to becoming a successful person, too.
