1. Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world. It is a game in which two teams of five players each try to score goals by throwing a large ball through a circular net fixed to a metal ring at each end of the court.

2. Basketball was invented in 1891 by Jim Naismith – an American physical education teacher. He invented the sport for indoor play at the YMCA during the Massachusetts winter.

What equipment do I need?
